Man Tea at the QT - A Review
A few days before Father's Day I realized that there hadn't been anything much planned to celebrate the day while simultaneously receiving an email that there was a 'Man Tea' on offer at QT Hotel, Surfers Paradise, so took the opportunity to quickly book in.
QT Hotel Service Experience
We arrived on Sunday afternoon and parked in the car park under the hotel. The reception staff were extremely busy when we arrived and we were not sure where to go, so it took a while to find where we needed to be, but once we found it we were warmly greeted and the service was fantastic. We were shown to our table, and ordered food separately for the children. They were not very hungry, and wouldn't like the Man Tea selection so we ordered a kids meal for them to share. There were a few options in the kids menu that were $15 each and they enjoyed it.Man Tea Food Experience
The Man Tea arrived, beautifully presented with loaded fries, brisket slider, beef skewer, tuna taco and Morton Bay bug roll. They tasted nice, although all of the dishes were quite spicy, and the sauces quite rich and enhanced.Next the dessert course was served with a flourish - a glass cloche covering a literally smoking cigar. The chocolate cigar was so well presented, although none of us enjoyed the bitter smoky flavour of the candied bacon and lemon ash and had to scrape it off the cigar. It was beautiful and such a great way to finish the 'Man Tea'.
My husband enjoyed the experience and gave it an 8/10. He said it was so much better than a normal high tea and thought it was a great way to enjoy Father's Day.
For me, I still prefer ribboned cucumber sandwiches and petit fours, but it was a great, easy and fun way to celebrate the best father I have ever met.
